About The Project

Carefoot was appointed as principal contractor after a competitive tendering exercise to build the new bus depot facility for Warrington Borough Council. The scheme involved the construction of a 10-day workshop and VOSA MOT lane including additional VOSA regulation compliant lanes for the testing of road tankers.
The main building includes office accommodation, and a standalone new bus washing and refuelling facility.
The project will see the delivery of the first bus depot in the UK that has been purpose built to house an all-electric bus fleet. Carefoot installed thousands of metres of ducting and cabling required to provide charging stations for 120 electric buses, one of the largest fleets of electric buses in Europe.
